About Daniel Rotter

Daniel Rotter is a digital artist and graphic designer based in Leutenbach, Germany, working in pixel art, generative systems, and onchain formats.

In 2025 his set 8x8x (Set 065) was revealed as part of the permanent Opepen Edition, one of the few solo sets among the 84 revealed so far. He has also contributed to the community sets Zoopepen (071) and 11x11 (083).

His own projects follow the same logic: PunkApepen, an unplanned pixel series that grew into PunkBlocks and Max Papp; Squares; and Everyday People, 666 onchain pixel characters released under CC0.

Alongside the artwork he builds DigArt, a home for digital artists, based on the premise that marketplaces come and go and an artist’s work shouldn’t depend on them.

The work runs on constraints: fixed grids, small palettes, no roadmap.
